26 ஆங்கில எழுத்துக்களையும் பயன்படுத்தி உருவாக்கிய சிறிய சொற்றொடர்.

ஆங்கிலத்திலுள்ள 26 எழுத்துக்களும் வரும் வகையில் வசனமொன்றை அமைத்தால் எப்படியிருக்கும். 

அவ்வாறு அமைக்கப்பட்ட மிகச்சிறிய சொற்தொடர் என்ன தெரியுமா?

டெலக்ஸ் ஒபரேட்டர்களுக்காக வெஸ்டர்ன் யூனியன் கம்பெனி ‘தி க்விக் பிரெளன் பொக்ஸ் ஜம்ப்ஸ் ஓவர் தி லேஸி டொக்’ 
(The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog)
என்ற 35 எழுத்துக்களைக் கொண்ட சொற்றொடரை உருவாக்கியது.

ஆயினும் எல்லா எழுத்துக்களையும் பயன்படுத்தி உருவாக்கிய மிகச் சிறிய சொற்றொடர் இதுவல்ல.

‘ஜேக்டோஸ் லவ் மை பிக் ஸ்ஃபின்க்ஸ் ஒஃப் க்வார்ட்ஸ்’ 
(Jackdaws Love My Big Sphinx Of Quartz) 
என்ற 31 எழுத்துக்களைக் கொண்ட இச்சொற்றொடரே மிகச் சிறியது என்று கருதப்படுகிறது. இதை உருவாக்கியவர் யார் என்பது தெரியவில்லை.

have, has or had?

We use ‘have’ with ‘you’ and ‘we’.
You have bad breath.
We have a vegetable garden.

And ‘they’ and ‘I’.
They have bad taste. 
I have a new car.

All other times we use ‘have’ with a plural subject.
The dogs have worms.
Sam and Jack have bad breath.

If the subject is singular (except for ‘you’ and ‘I’) we use ‘has’.
The dog has worms.
The university has excellent facilities.
She has long hair.

The past tense form is ‘had’. It's used with both singular and plural subjects.
The dogs had worms last month.
The dog had worms last month.
Both the dog and the cat had worms last month.

Loose with two 'o's is an adjective meaning not firm, not well secured or not fitting closely.
Loose roofing iron is likely to be blown away in a cyclone.

Lose with one 'o' is a verb meaning to suffer the loss of something
You'll lose your job if you keep arriving so late.
